The Large Scale Tactical FPS known as WARDOGS is officially coming to Xbox although we do have to wait until 2028 to join the battlefield.
WARDOGS has now launched through Steam Early Access over on PC and it has done so to critical success following a series of popular closed beta tests. The amount of creators and general players who have been hyping up this game has been insane and as someone who has managed to play the game after its various launch issues, it is incredible.
If you’ve not heard of the game, WARDOGS describes itself as an ambitious 100-player tactical FPS that feels like the good old days, letting you “play like you used to”. It reminds players of games like ARMA, Battlefield and MAG all mixed into one.
WARDOGS aims to bring that feeling back through 100-player battles between three rival teams, combining tactical gunplay, vehicles, construction and destruction across three maps, each with three variations. Battles can shift from coordinated pushes to complete chaos in seconds, while local voice chat across all three teams brings allies and enemies into the same conversations, creating the unpredictable moments already driving thousands of clips, streams and videos from the community.
I have had my eye on this one since the original announcement and I loved the idea of the money economy system that the developers have introduced which really encourages team play which has been sorely lacking in other multiplayer titles these days.
WARDOGS is currently scheduled to arrive on Xbox in 2028, although a specific release date has not yet been announced.
Wishlist’s are now live on the Xbox Store if you fancy adding it to the library and giving it a go when it comes to XBOX in 2028. For now, the game is available on Steam and you can hear our thoughts in an impressions piece which will be live next week.
