You can now check your game license history with Xbox Disc to Digital, to see which digital licenses have been revoked.
This latest feature, as spotted and shared in an X post by XCT, can be accessed online by going to the dedicated page on Play.xbox.com which you can also find from the home page by accessing Settings > Manage Games > Disc to Digital License History.
This latest game license history feature is pretty handy to keep track of which licenses have been removed from your account should you sell, lend, or trade-in a game you’ve finished playing. When you do so, the digital license is revoked from your account, so you’ll no longer be able to play that game until you get it back or purchase a new copy.
The license is automatically transferred to the game’s new owner when they insert the disc into their console.

“Without possession of the qualifying disc, you may lose the disc to digital licensing benefits. For example, if you lose, sell, give away, or otherwise no longer possess a qualifying disc, access to associated disc to digital licenses may be limited or revoked. If you lose access to your license, you will need to either regain possession of the disc and play it while signed into your account or purchase a new digital version from the Microsoft store”
If you’re a fan of physical games and regularly sell or trade them in, the game license history feature will be a useful addition to Xbox Disc to Digital.
We’re still waiting on any news about Bandai Namco or Square Enix games joining the Disc to Digital scheme. Last month we finally saw SEGA join Ubisoft on Disc to Digital. To date there are now over 1,500 games supported by the program.
It’s great to see Xbox supporting physical media at a time when other brands like Sony are abandoning it in favor of digital. Sony’s controversial plan to stop production of physical games by 2028 hasn’t been a hit with fans.
Players should have a choice between physical and digital games — and there’s something thrilling about grabbing a collector’s or steelbook edition of a game you’ve been waiting for all year. Let’s hope Xbox continues to support physical games alongside digital editions going forwards!
