Xbox Series X|S Consoles Are Getting a Fresh Boot-Up Sequence
Microsoft has officially revealed a brand-new Xbox console start-up animation with the update arriving next week for Xbox players and I for one think it’s fantastic!
According to the Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, the refreshed boot-up sequence will begin rolling out next Wednesday and appears to be heading to the Xbox Series X and S consoles and likely Xbox One as well.
The updated animation also introduces brand-new sound design which is now marking the first major refresh to the Xbox start-up sequence in around six years.
The redesigned animation prominently features Xbox’s newly updated logo which was first revealed last month to an overwhelming positivity and I absolutely fell in love with it.
While the redesign mainly focuses on a refreshed colour scheme and cleaner presentation, it signals the direction Xbox branding is heading moving forward and these small improvements are definitely winning over fans.
Compared to the existing boot-up sequence, the new version feels more modern and visually polished, helping give Xbox consoles a slightly fresher identity ahead of the next generation of hardware.
I’m still surprised we are seeing a start up refresh bear in mind the next-gen Xbox is rumoured to arrive in the next year or two.
Quite possibly the biggest question is whether this signals even larger shifts internally at Xbox and personally, I think this is showing the fast pace that Asha has now injected into the Xbox team.
Does it re-write Xbox as we know it? Well not exactly. However this is the step in the right direction and I think it’s adding more positivity to the brand.
As someone who has been with Xbox for over 15 years, this is the positivity we used to see and long may it continue.
