Xbox Game Pass subscribers are getting another major day one release next month and this one could fly under a lot of players’ radar!
Publisher Kwalee has confirmed that Luna Abyss will officially launch on May 21, 2026, and alongside a traditional console launch, it’ll be available day one on Xbox Game Pass.
The upcoming title is also launching on Xbox Series X|S, PC, cloud, Steam, Epic Games Store, and PlayStation 5.
For Xbox players though, Game Pass is easily the biggest part of this announcement and this is a huge addition for the growing service.
Luna Abyss is a first-person action-adventure game that mixes fast movement, platforming, and intense bullet-hell combat.
You basically step into the role of Fawkes, a prisoner sent deep beneath the surface of a mysterious artificial moon to recover lost technology.
Throughout the journey, you will explore massive abandoned structures, uncover the fate of a lost colony, and survive increasingly dangerous threats hidden within the abyss.
There was also a mention of an AI prison guard named Aylin will also be watching every move and causing you a lot of hassle along the way!

I have had Luna Abyss on my radar since 2024 and I have covered it in my upcoming fps videos quite a few time over on our YouTube Channel. This is because the game’s fast movement and chaotic combat already draw comparisons to titles like DOOM Eternal, Ghostrunner, and Returnal which really nails it for many players out there.
What makes it stand out, however, is its strange sci-fi setting and heavy focus on mystery-driven storytelling.
From what’s been shown so far, this could end up being one of the more surprising Xbox Game Pass additions of the month and I will have a review out nearer to launch, so do stay tuned!
Luna Abyss may not be a huge AAA release, but day one launches like this are exactly why many players stay subscribed to Xbox Game Pass.
We’ll find out if it lives up to the hype when it launches on May 21st 2026!
