There are plenty of New Xbox Games This Week with several major releases, expansions and Xbox Game Pass additions arriving between July 6 and July 10, 2026.
This week’s Xbox lineup includes everything from huge AAA releases and major DLC expansions to free-to-play RPGs, survival games and smaller indie releases. Some of the biggest highlights include Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations, Palworld 1.0 and the long-awaited Xbox release of Wuthering Waves.
Below, we’ve rounded up all the biggest new Xbox games releasing this week including their release dates, Xbox Game Pass availability and everything you need to know before playing.

Xbox Game Pass: Yes
Kicking off the week is Winds of Arcana: Ruination, a 2.5D Metroidvania that arrives on Xbox and Xbox Game Pass on July 6.
Winds of Arcana: Ruination has already been available on PC for some time, where it has received a mixture of feedback from players. Some have praised the clean combat and compared certain elements to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, although others have highlighted difficulty spikes and technical issues.
Personally, I think it looks a little dated visually but Xbox Game Pass makes this an easy game to try without committing to a full purchase.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is getting its first major expansion this week with Revelations.
As someone who recently completed the full 1,000 Gamerscore in the base game more DOOM is certainly welcome. Early previews suggest Revelations is more difficult than the original campaign while introducing improved movement options, new abilities and the Chain Spear.
Perhaps the biggest surprise is the size of the expansion. Revelations is expected to take approximately 10–12 hours to complete making this a substantial addition to The Dark Ages rather than a small collection of extra missions.
The expansion can be purchased separately and is also included with the Premium Edition and Premium Upgrade.

The biggest release of the week for me personally is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and as someone with a massive Assassin’s Creed Rogue tattoo on my upper arm, I’m beyond excited to return to this era of the series.
Resynced is a faithful remake of the original Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag but Ubisoft has overhauled several gameplay systems to bring the experience closer to modern standards while attempting to maintain the identity of the original.
I do have some scepticism surrounding the combat changes as the fighting system has been redesigned to feel more fluid and closer to newer Assassin’s Creed games. Thankfully, Resynced isn’t becoming a full RPG which is definitely good news for players who prefer the structure of the older games.
With improved gameplay, a visually rebuilt Caribbean and reportedly another six to ten hours of additional content this could be one of the biggest Xbox releases of July.

Xbox Game Pass: 10-hour trial for eligible Ultimate members
EA Sports College Football 27 is the latest entry in the revived American football series.
The franchise appears to have maintained a more positive reputation among its community than some of EA’s other annual sports games, and the 2027 edition introduces another selection of gameplay improvements and new features.
One of the stranger additions is the ability to play entire games as mascots, while the new Dynasty Blueprint system gives players more control over the future direction of their program.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members with the required EA Play benefits will also be able to access a 10-hour trial.

Anime fans have something interesting heading their way this week with Echoes of Aincrad and this new adventure takes players back to the iconic floating castle, but this time you’ll experience the world through your own custom-created character.
Players can customise their appearance, weapons, equipment and abilities before heading out into the world of Aincrad. The combat appears to take some inspiration from Soulslike games, with an emphasis on timing, positioning and adapting your build around your preferred style of play.
I’ve always thought the world of Sword Art Online was perfect for an ambitious RPG. If the combat and progression systems come together properly, Echoes of Aincrad could be one of the more interesting anime games arriving this year.
Hell Clock has one of the most fascinating setups of any game releasing on Xbox this week.
This fast-paced roguelike is inspired by one of the darkest chapters in Brazilian history. You play as Pajeú, a warrior descending deeper into a supernatural nightmare to rescue the soul of his fallen mentor, known as The Counselor and the gameplay is built around speed, powerful character builds and deciding how far you’re willing to push each run.
PC players have responded positively to the progression systems and variety of builds available. If you enjoy games like Hades or Diablo with a strong roguelike structure, Hell Clock is worth having on your radar.
If you’ve played Medieval Dynasty or Sengoku Dynasty, Viking Frontiers should immediately be on your radar. The premise is similar but this time you’re attempting to survive and establish a new life as the leader of a Viking clan.
After arriving on an unknown shore, it’s your responsibility to reunite your people, establish a settlement and eventually prove yourself worthy of becoming Jarl. That means gathering resources, hunting, farming, crafting, constructing buildings and making sure the needs of your growing clan are being met.
If you’re someone who can lose dozens of hours building settlements and watching them gradually grow, this could be one for you.
The full 1.0 release of Palworld is finally arriving this week and as someone who deliberately stopped playing while waiting for the full release, I’ll definitely have to jump back in when I get the time.
Pocketpair has been deliberately secretive about much of the new content, but we know the update reportedly contains 27 pages of changes, improvements and new features. The developers have teased larger and more powerful creatures to collect, improvements and continuations to the story, expanded verticality and flying mechanics, new base-building options and significant changes to the existing world.
Considering how successful Palworld has been since its original launch, I suspect plenty of players will be returning for the 1.0 release.

Price: Free-to-play
After a long wait, Wuthering Waves finally arrives on Xbox Series X|S on July 10.
The popular free-to-play open-world action RPG has previously been available on other platforms but Xbox players will finally get the opportunity to see what all the hype is about.
Wuthering Waves is described as a story-rich open-world action RPG with a high degree of player freedom. Combat is one of the game’s biggest attractions, with fast movement and stylish abilities playing a major role in its gameplay.
Xbox Game Pass members will also receive additional benefits, including an exclusive Sigil and a recurring gift pack containing various in-game boosts.
Alongside this week’s new Xbox releases, Xbox Game Pass Essential has also received several unexpected additions.
Four games were added to the tier on July 1:
- Costume Quest 2
- Shadowrun Returns
- Shadowrun: Dragonfall
- Shadowrun: Hong Kong
Full Throttle Remastered was also added to Xbox Game Pass Essential in the middle of June, bringing the total number of recent unannounced additions to five.
Xbox Game Pass Essential hasn’t seen as much movement as other tiers following the changes made to the service, so these are welcome additions for subscribers looking for something new to play.
There is plenty of variety across the new Xbox games releasing between July 6 and July 10.
For me, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is easily the highlight of the week, while DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations looks like a substantial expansion for anyone who enjoyed the base game.
Palworld’s 1.0 update should bring plenty of players back to one of Xbox’s biggest survival games, while Wuthering Waves finally gives Xbox players access to another major free-to-play action RPG.
