Xbox Insiders can now preview “Cloud Playtime” and stream games ad-free, without the need for a Game Pass subscription.
Xbox rolled the preview out yesterday, allowing Insiders without a Game Pass subscription to try out the service before its broader roll out in November,
For now, there are three tiers of “introductory launch pricing” which suggests this pricing may change before the service rolls out to all players. These add-ons will likely be available to Game Pass subscribers who have used up their cloud gaming limits, too.
The tiers are:
- 10 hours for $3.99
- 25 hours for $7.99
- 50 hours for $11.99
Any playtime you purchase as part of a Cloud Playtime pack doesn’t expire, so it’s available until you use it. Xbox is promising ad-free cloud gaming, shorter wait times, and high-quality streaming. In return, it’s asking for feedback from players to help improve the service in future.
“Cloud playtime packs provide an ad-free cloud gaming experience, including shorter wait times, high-quality streaming, and playtime that remains available until it’s used. As we previously shared, XBOX Insiders can also try cloud gaming for free with ads, giving players another option for accessing cloud gaming without a Game Pass subscription.”
If you’re an Insider and don’t want to pay for Cloud gaming, you can try it out for free with ads, even if you don’t have a Game Pass subscription.
There’s no date yet for the November launch, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything!
